Hello folks

I thought I would send you an extract from Puntology.

This is not anyone attempting to sell you a system it is an actual course to assist you in becoming more professional in your method of selecting your horses.

If you are serious about making money from Horse Racing then this is a must for your Portfolio.

This is an extract from the first lesson where Michael shows you how to rate the horses to find value, as we all know finding value is the key to making consistent long term profits.

If you are confused, don’t be as everything is explained in layman’s terms within the lesson.

Final Ratings
Reclamation NR
Golden Penny 6
Queen’s Speech 1
Morocchius 11
Always Brave 1
Montiboli 4
Bookiebasher Babe 3
Ogmore Junction 7
Xtravaganza 5
Lu’s Women 10
Coral Shores 5
Herrbee NR

Looking carefully you will notice that Morocchius actually dropped to 12. Since we know that there are only 11 runners in this race, we put him to 11. Always Brave also raised to 0 and of course you can’t have that position so he was a 1, although bear in mind that he was the more favourable horse.

Please also take note that you can have same-ranked horses. We have used the market to adjust our rankings and give us an even more accurate idea of which order the horses will finish in. Our two favourites are Queen’s Speech and Always Brave with a small jump to Bookiebasher Babe and Montiboli.

From the prices we see that Queen’s Speech is a heavy favourite and so unlikely to offer us any value even though top rated. Always Brave had good odds considering we actually ranked it a little better than Queen’s Speech. At odds of 16/1 Montiboli has much higher odds than we would expect considering we think it will come in 4th.

We will cover bet structures in a later lesson, but you could structure this however you wanted. I placed an each-way bet on Always Brave and Montiboli. With Montiboli winning and Always Brave coming second it was a nice profit! If you would like to take this to an even more advanced level, you can convert the ratings into odds. When you get the new rank you replace it with new odds.

For example, we would have given rating odds of 12.5 to Montiboli and odds of 10 to Golden Penny. Montiboli’s new rank then became 4 and the odds of the original horse ranked 4 (which was Golden Penny) became 10. Montiboli now has rating odds of 10. This is not a necessary procedure, but makes even clearer what excellent value Montiboli was at SP of 17.00 (16/1) and the likelihood being able to get the horse at even better odds on Betfair.
